Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is recruiting a site-based Quantity Surveyor for a high-profile student accommodation project in Leeds. You will join a Tier 1 main contractor team and report to the Senior Project Surveyor on a £175m block with 650+ apartments.

You will help manage cost plans, procurement, valuation, and final accounts across pre- and post-construction stages, ensuring sites stay within budget and meet client expectations.

Qualifications

• Experience as Quantity Surveyor on construction projects.
• Relevant degree or professional qualification preferred.
• Strong understanding of cost planning and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Senior Project Surveyor and project teams to provide cost-effective advice.
• Support in preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities and cost plans.
• Assist in feasibility studies and site visits to gather data for accurate estimates.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure cost control and value engineering.
• Undertake measurements, valuations, and financial statements in line with contractual requirements.
• Support final accounts and progression of post-construction cost reporting.

Due to several new contract wins, my client who are a UK leading Tier 1 Main Contractor with an approx turnover of £1.4bn are looking for an experienced site based Quantity Surveyor. to join their team. The role of an Quantity Surveyor You will play an essential part of the commercial team reporting directly to the Senior Project Surveyor working on a high profile £175m Student accomodation block consisting of over 650 apartments. As Quantity Surveyor you will play a vital role in supporting both pre-construction and post-construction stages, ensuring the successful delivery of projects within budget and meeting client expectations.

Duties of an Quantity Surveyor

• Collaborate with the Senior Project Surveyor and project teams to provide professional and cost-effective advice, contributing to the successful completion of projects.
• Support in the preparation of tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, cost estimates, and cost plans.
• Assist in conducting feasibility studies and site visits to gather crucial data for accurate cost estimates.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure effective cost control and value engineering throughout projects.
• Undertake accurate measurements, quantities, and valuations of work completed, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, valuations, and final accounts.
• Stay updated on industry advancements and best practices, actively participating in continuing professional development opportunities.
