Job summary

Navartis Ltd is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team supporting a major highways term maintenance contract. The role is based across Hertfordshire with hybrid working after probation and involves cost control, CVRs, payments and reporting.

The successful candidate will work on a diverse range of highway projects, develop commercial skills, and collaborate with Senior QS, operations teams and subcontractors in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with commercial data.
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of construction processes.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented approach with strong relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the commercial management of multiple highways maintenance projects.
• Managing the commercial process from procurement through to final account.
• Producing and monitoring monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
• Preparing applications for payment and supporting valuation submissions.
• Monthly forecasting and financial reporting.
• Managing subcontractor procurement, payments and account administration.
• Identifying and managing Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events.
• Supporting contract administration under NEC contracts.
• Assisting Senior Quantity Surveyors with commercial reporting and project controls.
• Contributing to cost management, risk mitigation and profitability improvements.
• Liaising with operational teams to ensure commercial processes are adhered to.
• Supporting estimating activities where required.
