Job summary

Wates Group is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join a major project in Bedfordshire, focusing on commercial management from inception to completion. The role involves procurement, cost control and working with cross-functional teams.

You will prepare cost reports, forecasts and valuations, manage variations and commercial risk, and support final accounts with delivery, design and supply chain colleagues. Experience on medium to large projects is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Quantity Surveying role within construction or the built environment.
• Strong understanding of commercial and contractual processes.
• Strong numerical, analytical and reporting skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• A proactive, organised and detail-focused approach.
• Experience on medium to large construction projects is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the commercial management of projects from inception to completion
• Assisting with procurement, subcontractor management and cost control
• Preparing cost reports, forecasts and valuations
• Managing variations, change control and commercial risk
• Supporting the preparation and agreement of final accounts
• Working closely with delivery, design and supply chain teams
• Ensuring commercial processes align with company standards and best practice
