Wates Group in Bedfordshire is recruiting an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support commercial delivery on a high-value project. You will work with seasoned professionals, helping manage costs, procurement, and valuations, while learning and progressing within a supportive, family-owned business.

Qualifications

• Degree or working towards a Quantity Surveying qualification.
• Strong numerical and analytical ability with attention to detail.
• Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience on construction projects is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support commercial management from pre-construction to completion.
• Assist with procurement, subcontractor engagement and cost control.
• Prepare valuations, cost reports and forecasts under guidance.
• Support variations and change control processes.
• Assist with final accounts preparation and agreement.
• Collaborate with site, commercial, design and supply chain teams.
• Ensure commercial processes align with company procedures and best practice.
