RGB Recruitment is seeking a Quantity Surveyor / Assistant Quantity Surveyor for a well-established civil engineering contractor based in Somerset. The role offers the opportunity to support a growing commercial team on diverse civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the South West.

You will assist with cost control, valuations, procurement, and final accounts while developing your career within a supportive and stable business environment.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Experience in a Quantity Surveying or commercial role within civil engineering or construction.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
• Good communication skills with a proactive, professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Assist with cost control and financial reporting on live projects.
• Support valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.
• Assist with subcontractor procurement, including enquiries, comparisons, and appointments.
• Help manage subcontractor accounts and variations.
• Support tender preparation and cost planning when required.
• Collaborate with site teams to ensure best commercial practice.
