Apple Technical Recruitment are recruiting an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for an award-winning East Anglian main contractor. The role focuses on healthcare projects in East Norfolk, with a future pipeline across the region.

The position is permanent, with a salary circa 35,000–45,000 basic DOE plus a competitive package including car allowance, pension and bonus. The successful candidate will lead their own ~£3m healthcare project, report to a Managing QS, and have a clear path to QS level with

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years+ experience as a QS on construction projects.
• Experience with main contractors, sub-contractors or consultancies.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or part-way through a Degree Apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Measurement and valuations for progressing projects.
• Prepare applications for payment and manage cash flow.
• Reconciling accounts and subcontract enquiries through to final accounts.
• Assist with contract administration and negotiations on site.

Company & Project: Apple Technical Recruitment are working alongside an award winning East Anglian Main Contractor operating in the Healthcare sector, who are recruiting for a talented and ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their successful their Commercial Management team, based on healthcare projects in East Norfolk and with a future pipeline of working on local East Anglian projects.

The successful candidate will be leading their own c 3m Healthcare project and reporting to an experienced Managing QS, with a clear promotion pathway to Quantity Surveyor level with development opportunities and progressing to leading their own projects c 10m+ in the future.

Our client has an exceptionally strong order book, is a highly profitable business and boasts an exciting pipeline of projects across the region.

Duties & Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will take responsibility for assisting with and managing daily commercial management functions, including but not limited to;
  • Measurement & valuations.
  • Applications for payment.
  • Reconciling accounts.
  • Dealing with sub-contract enquiries, through to practical completion of the project and settling final accounts.
  • Good communication skills, contract administration and negotiation is desirable for this role.

Desirable Experience

• Minimum 2 years+ experience as a QS on Construction projects either post qualification or during apprenticeship/training.
• Previous employers could include Main Contractors, Specialist Sub-Contractors or Consultancies.
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or part-way through Degree Apprenticeship.
• Previous Roles: Trainee Quantity Surveyor OR QS OR Intermediate Quantity Surveyor OR Assistant Quantity Surveyor OR Graduate Quantity Surveyor OR Apprentice Quantity Surveyor

Degree in Quantity Surveying or comparable OR be part way through a Degree Apprenticeship in Quantity Surveying
