Job summary

Building Careers UK Ltd is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for residential groundworks in Liverpool. You will manage commercial delivery from contract award through final account, prepare payments, valuations, and final accounts, and lead subcontractor management to maximise project profitability.

The ideal candidate has housing and residential groundworks experience, strong contract administration skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within the groundworks or civil engineering sector.
• Housing and residential groundworks experience is essential.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing the commercial delivery of multiple residential groundworks projects from contract award through to final account.
• Preparing and submitting applications for payment, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
• Procuring and managing subcontractors and suppliers.
• Producing accurate cost forecasts, CVRs, and commercial reports.
• Monitoring project costs and ensuring commercial targets are achieved.
• Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.
• Administering contracts and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
• Working closely with operational teams to maximise project performance and profitability.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, site teams, and key stakeholders.
• Supporting the Commercial Manager with strategic commercial decisions and reporting.

As a result of continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their commercial team.

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:

The Ideal Candidate

The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will have:

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within the groundworks or civil engineering sector

• Housing and residential groundworks experience is essential

• Previous experience working with residential developers or housebuilders

• Strong understanding of commercial management and contract administration

• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills

• A proactive and commercially driven approach

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial discipline would be advantageous
