Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for roles from Graduate to Senior level in Thirsk, North Yorkshire. You will join our expanding commercial team on varied construction projects across the region, contributing to financial and contractual management from tender to final accounts.

We welcome graduates through to senior professionals who can lead projects, mentor staff, and provide commercial advice to directors. A full UK driving license is required due to regional site locations.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication and collaborative problem-solving abilities.
• Full UK driving licence (required).
• Senior level: proven ability to lead projects autonomously and manage NEC/JCT contracts.

Responsibilities

• Graduate/Assistant Level: Support the commercial management of live construction contracts.
• Assist with takeoff quantities, cost estimations, and tendering processes.
• Learn and assist with monthly valuations, variation assessments, and subcontractor payments.
• Build strong working relationships with site teams, subcontractors, and clients.
• Mid to Senior Level: Take full commercial responsibility for assigned projects from award through to final account settlement.
• Prepare detailed project cost control reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Manage procurement, subcontractor accounts, variations, and contractual claims.
• Provide commercial advice to project directors and mentor junior team members.
