Job summary

Yorkshire-based contractor is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of a major National Grid framework across Yorkshire. The role sits within an established commercial team, coordinating with Senior and Managing Quantity Surveyors and managing defined work packages across the framework.

Key responsibilities include NEC contract management, cost tracking, compensation events, subcontract procurement, and final accounts, with travel between York/Leeds and site teams as required.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, infrastructure, or utilities.
• Solid working knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Strong numerical, analytical and commercial skills.
• Collaborative approach engaging with stakeholders.
• Experience across earthworks, structures, utilities, or power projects.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the commercial management of projects delivered under the NEC suite of contracts.
• Cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting against project budgets.
• Assisting with the preparation and submission of compensation events and variations.
• Subcontract procurement, valuation, and payment administration.
• Measurement, interim applications, and contribution to final accounts.
• Working closely with site teams and planners to ensure commercial controls align with programme delivery.
