GRAHAM is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor for its Building Division in Edinburgh. The appointment supports a construction project valued at GBP150 million, with commercial responsibilities from project inception to completion and involvement in developing junior colleagues. Work includes preparing budgets and forecasts, assessing costs and risks, and examining value-engineering options.
The surveyor will manage tendering and subcontractor appointments, administer contracts and monitor valuations, variations and final accounts. Reporting on financial performance and commercial exposure forms part of the role, together with site visits, project meetings and liaison with clients and the delivery team. Candidates need substantial post-qualification construction experience across public and private building projects.
The employer requires practical knowledge of procurement, subcontract management and contract administration, together with cost-control experience and strong Excel and Word skills. Professional membership, or progress towards membership, is desirable. Experience on complex building schemes, modern construction methods and mentoring is also advantageous.
