Job summary

We Recruit Group Ltd in Cardiff is seeking an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a long-term contract across façade and remediation projects.

You’ll manage subcontractor procurement, valuations, cost reporting and change control, working closely with the Commercial Manager from pre-construction through to final account, with flexible site-based arrangements in South Wales and the South West.

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction.

Freelance Quantity Surveyor Required

We Recruit Group is recruiting on behalf of a leading specialist contractor operating within the façades, cladding remediation and fire safety sector.

Due to continued project wins across South Wales and the South West, our client is looking to appoint an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a long-term contract.

The Role

Working alongside the Commercial Manager and operational teams, you'll take commercial responsibility for a portfolio of façade and remediation projects from pre-construction through to final account.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing subcontractor procurement and commercial packages
• Preparing valuations and applications for payment
• Cost reporting, forecasting and cash flow management
• Valuing variations and managing change control
• Contract administration (JCT)
• Producing monthly CVRs
• Negotiating final accounts
• Supporting project delivery while managing commercial risk

About You

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
• Experience in façade, cladding, remediation, roofing, external envelope or fire safety projects is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of JCT forms of contract
• Excellent commercial and contractual awarenessAble to manage multiple projects and work independently<
• Available to start immediately or at short notice
