Job summary

Axis CLC based in Darlington is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to drive cost control, value for money and governance across healthcare, education and public sector interior fit-out projects. The role operates in a framework-driven environment with strong emphasis on accuracy and collaboration.

You will handle valuations, cost reports, subcontractor accounts, variations, budgets, cashflow and cost value reconciliations, partnering with delivery teams to align commercial and project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within commercial and public sector environments.
• Sound knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract and cost control procedures.
• Strong commercial judgement, attention to detail and client/stakeholder liaison.
• IT literacy including Excel and commercial systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial and financial delivery on interior, fit-out and refurbishment projects in healthcare, education and public sector.
• Prepare and review valuations, cost reports and forecasts.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, applications and final accounts.
• Control variations with pricing justification.
• Assist budgets, cashflow forecasts and cost value reconciliations.
• Coordinate with operational teams to align delivery and commercial outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with contract terms and client requirements.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
• Support audits, reporting and governance processes.
