Job summary

Londinium Recruitment is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for a growing contractor delivering commercial and education projects in Kent. You will join a commercial team and manage your own projects with support from senior staff.

You will handle cost plans, budgets, forecasts, procurement, valuations, and final accounts, progressing toward senior roles within two to three years. Strong communication and a proactive mindset are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience working for a main contractor or specialist contractor.
  • Experience across commercial, education, refurbishment or similar projects.
  • The confidence to manage your own projects.

Responsibilities

  • Taking commercial responsibility for your own education and commercial projects.
  • Managing projects from pre-construction through to final account.
  • Preparing cost plans, budgets and project forecasts.
  • Managing subcontractor procurement and placing orders.
  • Preparing and submitting valuations and payment notices.
  • Assessing subcontractor applications and variations.
  • Monitoring project costs and commercial performance.
  • Attending site and client meetings.
  • Working closely with the operational team to ensure projects are delivered profitably.
  • Preparing and agreeing final accounts.

£50k-£60k plus package

The Company

Our client is a highly reputable and growing main contractor delivering a strong pipeline of commercial and education projects across Kent and the surrounding areas.

The business has built an excellent reputation for quality, reliability and maintaining long-term relationships with its clients. While the company continues to grow, it has retained a genuine family feel, with a supportive working environment where people are valued and given the opportunity to progress.

Due to continued growth, they are now looking for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to develop within a growing contractor. The company is keen to bring in people who can progress into Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager positions over the next two to three years.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager, you will manage your own projects while receiving support from an experienced commercial team.

Your responsibilities will include:

The Successful Quantity Surveyor

To be successful, you will ideally have:

  • Experience working for a main contractor or specialist contractor
  • Experience across commercial, education, refurbishment or similar projects
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or relevant commercial experience
  • The confidence to manage your own projects
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A driven and ambitious approach to your career
