Job summary

Kenton Black Limited is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial aspects of groundworks and infrastructure projects in Lincolnshire. You will work with senior team members to ensure financial performance and contractual compliance throughout procurement to final account.

The ideal candidate has proven QS experience in groundworks/infrastructure, strong commercial awareness, and good negotiation and Excel skills. Excellent career progression within a growing contractor awaits.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within groundworks, infrastructure, or civil engineering.
• Strong understanding of residential infrastructure packages including roads, drainage, foundations, and external works.
• Excellent commercial awareness and contractual understanding.
• Experience managing projects and subcontractor accounts.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Experience producing CVRs, forecasts, and financial reports.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Construction Management (HNC/HND/Degree preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and negotiate interim valuations, variations, and final accounts.
• Produce accurate monthly CVRs, forecasts, and cash flow reports.

• Provide commercial support to operational teams throughout project delivery.
• Identify and implement value engineering opportunities.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
• Ensure accurate commercial records and reporting are maintained.

Our client is a leading groundworks and infrastructure contractor with an annual turnover in excess of £40 million, delivering large-scale residential infrastructure and groundwork packages for many of the UK's leading housebuilders and developers.

With a reputation for technical excellence, commercial strength, and high-quality project delivery, the business has established itself as a key player within the residential infrastructure sector. Due to continued growth and a substantial pipeline of secured projects, they are now seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Lincolnshire.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven Quantity Surveyor to join a highly successful contractor. The successful candidate will be responsible for the commercial management of groundworks and infrastructure projects, ensuring financial performance, contractual compliance, and successful project delivery.

Working closely with Senior Quantity Surveyors, Commercial Managers, Contracts Managers, and Operational teams, you will play a key role in managing projects from procurement through to final account.
