A booming multi-disciplinary contractor is looking for a Quantity Surveyor or a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage a multi-million pound scheme close to Cambridge.

Company-wide, they excel in delivering construction projects on a national scale, but you will be covering the East Midlands area.

They have just had a record year, making this an exciting time to join as they continue expanding.

Our client is a leading main contractor specializing in turnkey solutions for industrial, build-to-rent, student accommodation, and civil engineering and infrastructure projects.

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be site-based near Cambridge managing one of two schemes, depending on your preference and skill set:

• Scheme 1: 2 architectural bridges connecting a college campus (£15m, 55 weeks)
• Scheme 2: Infrastructure for a college campus including roads, drainage, water features, and landscaping

Key Responsibilities

• Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors
• Attending post-tender and pre-contract meetings
• Reviewing contract documents to ensure protection of the company
• Issuing sub-contract tender packages and evaluating tenders
• Managing supply chain subcontractors
• Assessing contract risks and developing mitigation plans
• Participating in commercial review meetings
• Submitting client valuations and managing the variation account
• Managing the commercial aspects of contracts
• Experience in internal cost management and contract administration
• Managing subcontract accounts from procurement to final account
• Preparing and evaluating claims for variation works
• Monitoring commercial performance against targets
• Adhering to group policies and legislation

The Right Person - Quantity Surveyor

You should be an experienced Quantity Surveyor with experience in civil engineering schemes.

Working hours are 8:00-17:30 with a 1-hour lunch break.
