Job summary

Ipsum is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join the Commercial team in Sidcup. You will develop, implement and manage all commercial activities to maximise profitability while upholding Ipsum values.

This full-time role is based from our Wakefield office, offering a supportive environment and clear progression opportunities. You will manage contracts, CVRs, WIP, change control, and subcontractor processes, collaborating with operations and the client to deliver value and minimise risk across

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar commercial role.
• Relevant degree in quantity surveying.
• Progress toward professional qualification (ICES or RICS) advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, JCT, FIDIC contracts.
• Experience managing tendering, CVRs, WIP, reforecasting and change control.

Responsibilities

• Manage contract performance including CVR reviews.
• Review contracts and mitigate risk.
• Report on project cashflows and profitability.
• Subcontractor management.
• Prepare and review subcontract documents and quotations.
• Manage project changes, variations and notices.
• Assess variations and compensation events.
• Support Commercial Manager with ad hoc projects.
• Prepare interim valuations and payment applications.
• Attend risk reviews and on-site meetings with clients.
• Be involved with tenders and pricing.
• Support daily commercial activities with operations.
