Job summary

RG Setsquare in the United Kingdom seeks a qualified Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Surveyor to join a growing construction and facilities management business with a diverse portfolio across education, healthcare, retail and commercial sectors.

You will work with operational and commercial teams to support project delivery, costing, valuations, forecasting and commercial reporting, and assist with budgeting and WIP for FM contracts, with clear opportunities for career progression.

Qualifications

• Experience within Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or Estimating.
• Strong costing, valuations, forecasting and commercial reporting.
• Experience in construction, refurbishment, maintenance or facilities management.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Review construction plans and provide detailed quantity and cost analysis.
• Support valuation, forecasting and commercial management of projects.
• Assist with estimating and WIP reporting on FM contracts.
• Prepare labour loading and pricing schedules for tender submissions.

About the Role

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Surveyor to join a successful construction and facilities management business operating across a diverse range of sectors.

Working closely with operational and commercial teams, you will support the successful delivery of projects across education, healthcare, retail and commercial environments. This role offers excellent career progression and the opportunity to contribute to both traditional construction projects and Facilities Management contracts.

Key Responsibilities

• Review construction plans and provide detailed quantity and cost analysis.
• Support the valuation, forecasting and commercial management of projects.
• Assist with estimating and WIP reporting on SOR-based Facilities Management contracts.
• Prepare labour loading and pricing schedules for tender submissions.
• Monitor budgets, costs, variations and project performance.
• Support the preparation of reports, risk assessments, forecasts and commercial documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of design changes and cost implications.
• Work closely with site teams, clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Assist in the commercial delivery of projects valued up to 3m.
• Attend site visits as required to review project progress and support delivery teams.

Requirements

• Experience within Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or Estimating.
• Good understanding of project costing, valuations, forecasting and commercial reporting.
• Experience within construction, refurbishment, maintenance or facilities management environments.
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
• Previous estimating experience within the UK construction or facilities management sector.
• Experience working on SOR-based contracts.
• Knowledge of education, healthcare, retail or commercial projects.
