Job summary

Mitchell Maguire Limited is seeking a Quantity Surveyor - Brickwork to deliver high-quality masonry packages on residential and commercial developments across the UK. This role is predominantly field-based, with sites in Reading or Kensington, focusing on cost control and contractual administration.

You will manage budgets, valuations, payment applications, cash flow forecasts, and variations, while administering JCT contracts.

Qualifications

• Must have proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor
• Experience within brickwork, masonry, scaffolding or related is ideal
• Main contractor background is a plus
• Predominantly field-based role working from sites
• IT literate (Microsoft Office)
• Strong numerical skills
• High levels of organisation and attention to detail
• Presentable, humble, enthusiastic & self-motivated

Responsibilities

• Deliver a range of high-quality masonry packages on residential and commercial developments across the UK
• Deal with Tier 1 developers and contractors
• Manage the commercial and financial performance of brickwork packages from handover through to final account
• Prepare budgets, valuations, payment applications, cost reports, and cash flow forecast
• Identify, price, negotiate, and agree variations and additional works
• Administer and advise on subcontract and main contract conditions (primarily JCT)
• Work closely with site, contracts, and estimating teams to support profitable and efficient project delivery

The role of the Quantity Surveyor - Quantity Surveyor - Brickwork will involve:

• Quantity surveyor position delivering a range of high-quality masonry packages on residential and commercial developments across the UK
• Dealing with Tier 1 developers and contractors
• Manage the commercial and financial performance of brickwork packages from handover through to final account
• Prepare budgets, valuations, payment applications, cost reports, and cash flow forecast
• Identify, price, negotiate, and agree variations and additional works
• Administer and advise on subcontract and main contract conditions (primarily JCT)

The ideal applicant will be Quantity Surveyor - Brickwork with:

• Must have proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor
• Ideally will have experience quantity within brickwork, masonry, scaffolding or related
• Would consider someone with a main contractor background
• Must be open to be predominantly field based working from sites
• Would consider an assistant or junior QS
• IT literate (Microsoft Office)
• Strong numerical skills
• High levels of organisation and attention to detail
• Presentable, humble, enthusiastic & self-motivated
