Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of drylining contracts from procurement through to final account.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, cash flow and overall profitability.
• Prepare and manage valuations, applications for payment and variations.
• Negotiate and agree subcontractor and supplier costs.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities, implementing effective cost control measures.
• Work closely with Site Managers, Contracts Managers and the wider commercial team to ensure projects remain financially on track.

Position: Quantity Surveyor • Location: Bristol, Somerset • Salary: £55,000-£60,000 (dependent on experience) plus car allowanceBennett & Game are representing a leading specialist drylining contractor who are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team.

The company delivers commercial drylining, plastering, suspended ceilings and associated interior systems across a range of construction projects. With an established presence in the sector and a strong pipeline of work across the South Coast, South West and South Wales, the business offers a varied project portfolio and long-term opportunities.

Salary & Benefits

Salary of £55,000-£60,000, depending on experience.

Position Overview

Manage the commercial aspects of drylining contracts from procurement through to final account.

• * Monitor project costs, budgets, cash flow and overall profitability.
• * Prepare and manage valuations, applications for payment and variations.
• * Negotiate and agree subcontractor and supplier costs.
• * Identify commercial risks and opportunities, implementing effective cost control measures.
• * Work closely with Site Managers, Contracts Managers and the wider commercial team to ensure projects remain financially on track.
• * Maintain accurate commercial records and provide regular cost and financial reports.
• * Attend site visits as required to review progress, assess variations and resolve commercial issues.

Position Requirements

• * Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor within commercial drylining.
• * Strong commercial management and cost control skills.
• * Proven experience managing subcontractor accounts, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• * Good understanding of construction contracts, procurement and commercial risk management.
• * Ability to monitor budgets, forecast costs and protect project profitability.
• * Strong negotiation, communication and organisational skills.
• * Confident working with operational teams, clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
• * Full UK driving licence and flexibility to undertake site visits as required.
