Job summary

Infocus Resources in Plymouth seeks a proactive Quantity Surveyor/Commercial professional to lead commercial input, forecast financial performance and manage cash flow. You will review monthly cost reports, monitor spend against budgets and coordinate with clients and subcontractors to certify and pay accounts.

The role requires NEC Contracts experience, CSCS, and a degree in Quantity Surveying or related field. Strong communication, IT skills, and driving licence are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Quantify and manage commercial inputs including forecasts and financial performance.
• Ensure cash flow optimisation; manage payments timeliness.
• Prepare and review monthly cost reports; monitor spend vs budgets.
• Forecast spend against client budgets; manage risk and change control.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial input including financial and contractual performance forecasts to the management team.
• Ensure cash flow is maximised including ensuring payments are made and received on time.
• Preparation and review of monthly cost reports for area, together with review of results and consideration of trends with other contract team members
• Forecasting and monitoring spend against approved Client budgets.
• Physical measurement of works and agreement of same with client and subcontractors.
• Agreement of certification and payment of subcontractor accounts - monitoring of such accounts against forecasts.
• Implementation and compliance with the contract change control procedure and monitoring thereof including communications to client as appropriate.
• Managing sub-contractors including sending out enquiries, collating prices, comparing with tender, negotiation, order placement, agreement of account and payment
• To assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks and implement Kier Group's policies for risk management.
• Client facing role so good communication skills are essential.

Location: Plymouth (Lodge Allowence provided)

Eligibility criteria: Many positions within the project are subject to national security clearance restrictions. This means that your eligibility for certain roles may be affected by your place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and any residency you hold or have held.

Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required. Please note that this process can take up to 8 weeks.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have :

• Professionally qualified operator and/or Graduate Qualifications - Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Related (HNC, BSc, MSc)
• CSCS - White PQP/AQP
• Fully converse and experience of NEC Contracts
• Experience with the use of CEMAR desired but not essential
• Experience working with Coins / Causeway accounting systems.
• Team player and working with a highly skilled diverse team.
• Holder of a Full UK Drivers Licence
• Educated to Degree level, or equivalent experience.
• Experience within a similar role
• Confident IT skills, proficient in the use of MS Office in particular Excel
• Excellent Communication skills both written and verbally.
• Must be an excellent organiser with proven time management skills.
