Job summary

Places for People is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support value-for-money across asset investments. You will work with Investment Delivery and Contractor Management to implement procurement strategies and deliver high-quality, customer-focused improvements.

You will manage financials for multiple major projects nationwide, travel to sites, and assist the Programme Performance Manager to ensure compliance with regulations. DBS check required; membership of a Chartered Body is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification in Quantity Surveying.
• Extensive experience managing contractors within a construction related environment.
• Driving Licence with access to your own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Manage financial aspects of major projects across the country.
• Travel to sites and London visits with expenses covered.
• Support Programme Performance Manager and ensure regulatory compliance.

Moreabout your role

As QuantitySurveyor you will supportthe deliveryof value for money, customer focused services across all our asset investment activities. You willbe responsiblefor supportingthe Investment Deliveryand Contractor Management teams and supportingthe implementationof the procurementstrategy for the maintenance and investment programmes in accordance withthe contract and Group requirements.You will work directly with our partner contractors and Investment Delivery colleagues to ensure that we maximise the impact of the significant investment activity in our customers' homes, delivering high quality improvement works that are customer focussed and represent value for money.

You will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of a number of major projects operating simultaneously across the country. You will be required to travel occasionally to visit sites/projects and teams.This role will supportthe Programme Performance Manager ensuring thatthe Group complies withall regulatoryand statutory requirementsand Group policies. As part of this role you will be travelling to London 1/2 times a month with expenses covered.

As a key member of the team, you willplay a lead rolein the transformationof your service, supportingsystem and data transformationas well as contributingto process and policy improvements thatmaximise impact on quality service delivery.

This roleis subject to a satisfactoryBasic DBS check.

Essential Criteria

• Degree level qualification in Quantity Surveying, or extensive equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience managing contractors within a construction related environment.
• Driving License with access to your own vehicle.

Please note travel to Bristol is required monthly

To be successful in this roleyou willbe commerciallyastute withstrong project, programme, contract, safety, cost and change managementskills. You willhave strong technical and contractualknowledge and willhave strong negotiationand decision-makingskills.

Extensive experience of managing contractors within a construction related organisationis essential and ideally you willhave detailed knowledge of contract/cost managementand Project ManagementIT systems.

You willneed to hold a QuantitySurveyor qualificationto degree level (or have extensive relevant experience) for this role. It would be advantageousif you hold membership of a related Chartered Body, but we offer extensive personal and career development opportunities which may include progression through a chartered route.
