Job summary

Navartis in Essex seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join an established construction business. You will manage project costs from tender through to completion and help ensure financial performance on high-value schemes.

The role offers exposure to projects ranging from £100k to £2m and requires 5+ years' experience with main contractors or specialist subcontractors. You will build client relationships and drive commercial outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in Quantity Surveying.
• Experience with main contractors or specialist subcontractors.
• Strong commercial and measurement skills.
• Good understanding of construction contracts (pref. JCT).

Responsibilities

• Managing project costs from tender through to completion.
• Preparing budgets and monitoring financial performance.
• Reviewing and administering contracts.
• Measuring works and checking quantities.
• Procuring subcontractors and specialist suppliers.
• Managing subcontractor accounts and payments.
• Assessing variations and commercial changes.
• Producing regular cost reports.
• Assisting with final accounts and commercial close-out.
• Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.

I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join an established construction business based in Essex.

The company works on a range of projects, including high-value schemes in Central London, with project values ranging from £100k to £2m.

This is a great opportunity for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor with 5+ years' construction experience, ideally gained with a main contractor or specialist subcontractor.

The Role:

• Managing project costs from tender through to completion
• Preparing budgets and monitoring financial performance
• Reviewing and administering contracts
• Measuring works and checking quantities
• Procuring subcontractors and specialist suppliers
• Managing subcontractor accounts and payments
• Assessing variations and commercial changes
• Producing regular cost reports
• Assisting with final accounts and commercial close-out
• Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers

The ideal candidate:

• 5+ years' Quantity Surveying experience
• Experience working for a main contractor or specialist subcontractor
• Strong commercial and measurement skills
• Good understanding of construction contracts
• JCT experience is preferred
• NEC experience would be advantageous
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Construction-related qualification preferred, although relevant experience will be considered
