Balvac, a specialist business within Balfour Beatty, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support pre- and post-contract activities across multiple live projects in the UK. You will help drive commercial excellence, manage budgets and cash flow, and ensure robust governance while visiting sites as needed.
The role offers hybrid working with offices in Warrington, Derby or Leeds, and flexible working from home.
Balvac is one of Balfour Beatty’s most specialist and technically skilled businesses – dedicated to structural concrete repair, strengthening, protection and refurbishment of vital civil infrastructure across the UK. From bridges and tunnels to power assets, ports, highways and energy structures, Balvac plays a crucial role in extending the life of the UK’s most important assets.
With 10–20 live projects at any one time, ranging from a few thousand pounds to multi‑million‑pound schemes, Balvac delivers complex works across transport, energy, highways and public infrastructure for major clients such as National Highways, Local Authorities, EDF, NRS and Tier 1 contractors.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a niche, high‑performing team where every project is different, and your work truly makes an impact.
As a Quantity Surveyor with Balvac, you will support both pre‑ and post‑contract activities across multiple live projects. You’ll be central to ensuring commercial excellence, strong financial governance and the successful delivery of schemes across the region.
You’ll join one of our commercial offices in Warrington, Derby, or Leeds, with the flexibility to work from home and visit sites as needed. The team typically works 2 days per week in the office, with full flexibility built into the role.
We welcome candidates from a range of backgrounds – ideally with experience in civils, infrastructure, concrete repair, highways, or structural works. But if you come from construction or wider built‑environment backgrounds with strong commercial capability, we’d still love to hear from you.
Day in, day out, our teams deliver some of the UK’s most ambitious, exciting and meaningful projects; developing, building and maintaining the vital infrastructure that supports national economies and strengthens communities.
As if contributing to and supporting work that makes life better for millions wasn’t rewarding enough, we offer a full range of benefits too. You’ll have the freedom to shape the package that’s right for you and your life. Here are some of our key benefits:
