Job summary

CSR (NI) LIMITED is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to control costs on a £15M project based in the Reading area. You will be involved at every stage of the project, ensuring compliance with legal and quality standards.

The successful candidate will have 2–3 years QS experience, familiarity with NEC contracts, and solid IT skills (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint). A generous salary package is available to attract the best candidates.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare internal commercial reporting and other required reports.
• Prepare valuations/applications for payment with documentation per contract.
• Prepare cost reports for client with supporting documents.
• Manage subcontract and material procurement schedules.
• Administer subcontractor/supplier accounts from requisitions to final accounts.
• Perform contract administration including change management and registers.
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities, VE and change.
• Utilise costing system and related processes.
• Prepare ongoing internal commercial reporting.

Job description

CSR is working with a specialist Civil Engineering contractor with projects throughout the UK.

They are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor who will be responsible for controlling costs for our Projects making sure that structures meet legal and quality standards. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be involved at every stage of a project. You will be based in the Reading area on a £15M Project.

Some of your duties will include:

• Preparation of internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required
• Preparation of valuations/applications for payment with supporting documentation in accordance with the contract.
• Preparation of Cost Reports to the Client with contractually compliant supporting documentation.
• Preparation and management of subcontract and material procurement schedules.
• Administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts from the preparation of detailed requisitions, monitoring and authorisation of subcontract payments through to agreement of final accounts.
• Undertake the contract administration, including change management and maintain associated registers.
• Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change.
• Utilise the costing system.
• Preparation of internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required.

To be successful in this position the Senior Quantity Surveyor must have:

• Relevant Industry Qualification
• Commercially astute with knowledge of standard forms of contract and standard methods of measurement.
• Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Office Applications (Word/Excel/Outlook/Powerpoint).
• Good communication skills including presentations and ability to negotiate and persuade others.
• Experience within a construction/engineering industry and commercial background.
• General Civils experience.
• Have at least 2-3 years QS experience – ideally in NEC contracts
