Job summary

EFT Group is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its growing construction commercial team. You’ll take commercial responsibility for 2–3 live projects, working closely with site operations from initial budgets and procurement through to final accounts.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
• Experience managing subcontractor packages and project accounts
• Strong commercial and financial awareness
• Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Confidence to own projects and work with operational teams
• Willingness to travel to sites around the North West

Responsibilities

• Manage project budgets, CVRs, cash flow and cost/value reporting
• Procurement, negotiation and account management of subcontractors
• Prepare monthly valuations and handle client applications
• Identify and value variations
• Monitor costs, profitability and commercial risk
• Agree final accounts with subcontractors and clients
• Support tenders, estimating and project appraisals
• Collaborate with Site Managers, Contracts Managers and clients
• Mentor junior members of the commercial team

This is an opportunity to join an established, ambitious construction business where you’ll take commercial responsibility for 2–3 live projects, working closely with their operational teams from initial budgets and procurement through to final accounts.

The Role

• Managing project budgets, CVRs, cash flow and cost/value reporting
• Subcontractor procurement, negotiation and account management
• Preparing monthly valuations and managing client applications
• Identifying and valuing variations
• Monitoring costs, profitability and commercial risk
• Agreeing subcontractor and client final accounts
• Supporting tenders, estimating and project appraisals
• Working closely with Site Managers, Contracts Managers and clients
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the commercial team

About You

• Quantity Surveying experience
• A degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
• Strong commercial and financial awareness
• Experience managing subcontractor packages and project accounts
• Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
• The confidence to take ownership of projects and work closely with operational teams
• Lives within commutable distance of Southport and can travel to sites around the North West
