Job summary

Danny Sullivan Group is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for a permanent, on-site role based in Peterborough. You will drive commercial management from procurement through final account, working with project and commercial teams on a major civil engineering programme.

The ideal candidate will have NEC contract experience, a Quantity Surveying qualification, and strong subcontract management and cost reporting skills developed within civil engineering or heavy civils sectors.

Qualifications

• Experience as Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering or infrastructure.
• Experience with NEC contracts.
• Degree or higher in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Water/utilities/heavy civils experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage subcontractor procurement and administration.
• Prepare applications, valuations and payments.
• Oversee cost reporting and forecasting for projects.
• Handle variations and change control processes.

Quantity Surveyor needed in Peterborough!

Location: Peterborough. Permanent Salary: £40,000 - £55,000. Working Pattern: 5 Days Per Week On Site.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a civil engineering contractor delivering a major programme of heavy civil engineering works.

The position is primarily based in Peterborough, working five days per week in the office.

The Role:

You’ll work closely with the project and commercial teams, taking responsibility for the commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account.

Key responsibilities include:

• Subcontractor procurement and management
• Applications, valuations and payments
• Cost reporting and forecasting
• Managing variations and change
• Supporting NEC contract administration
• Identifying and managing commercial risk
• Working closely with operational and project teams
• Preparing and agreeing final accounts
• Maintaining strong relationships with clients and the supply chain

What We're Looking For

Ideally, you'll have:

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or infrastructure
• Water, utilities or heavy civils experience would be beneficial
• Good understanding of NEC contracts
• Strong commercial and subcontract management experience
• HNC/HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline preferred
