Durham
Salary & package dependent on experience
Lemon Drizzle Recruitment is partnering with an established regional contractor based in the North East, specialising in passive fire and fire stopping services across a range of clients.
We're looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to take commercial responsibility for a range of fire stopping projects.
This is a stand‑alone QS role, so we're looking for someone who is confident working independently, managing their own workload and taking ownership of the commercial side of the project.
A schedule of rates is already agreed with the client, so the role will predominantly involve establishing and verify quantities of work completed, identifying and pricing any variations, and preparing and submitting accurate applications for payment.
The role will include:
The wider brief also includes experience of frameworks and different contract types, strong Excel/IT skills and the ability to take overall commercial responsibility for allocated projects.
What we're looking for:
We're looking for a Quantity Surveyor who is commercially confident and comfortable operating with a good level of autonomy. You'll need strong numerical and analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and the confidence to deal directly with clients.
Experience within passive fire, fire stopping or fire doors would be a definite advantage, but is not essential. We're equally interested in speaking with Quantity Surveyors from main contracting, subcontracting, refurbishment or similar construction backgrounds who have the right commercial experience.
Ideally, you'll have a Quantity Surveying qualification, relevant post-qualification experience and a full UK driving licence. The role is based in Durham with site visits as required, with salary and package dependent on experience.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys having ownership of their work and wants to join a well-established growing business where they can manage projects independently.
