Aldwych Consulting is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for highways projects in Liverpool. You will drive commercial delivery on major infrastructure schemes, manage NEC contracts where applicable, and partner with project teams to maximise financial performance.

The role requires solid highways or civil engineering experience, strong negotiation and communication skills, and a proactive team-based approach. This is a real opportunity to contribute to high-profile works and develop commercially.

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in highways or civil engineering.

Quantity Surveyor - Highways

Location: Liverpool
Salary: Up to £65,000 + package

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join an established infrastructure contractor, supporting highways projects in Liverpool.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded QS with highways experience to join a growing team, take responsibility for key commercial activities and contribute to the successful delivery of major infrastructure works.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of highways projects.
• Prepare and submit applications for payment.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, forecasts and financial performance.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, payments and final accounts.
• Identify, assess and manage variations and compensation events.
• Administer contracts, ideally under NEC.
• Work closely with project teams to maximise commercial performance and manage risk.
• Ensure accurate and timely commercial reporting.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within highways or civil engineering.
• Good understanding of NEC contracts.
• Experience managing project costs, subcontractors and contractual changes.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• A proactive approach with the ability to work effectively as part of a project team.
