Qualifications

• A Quantity Surveying degree is essential.
• MRICS qualification desirable or in progress.
• NEC3/NEC4 contract experience.

Shape the commercial success of major infrastructure projects

As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in the commercial and contractual management of a significant portfolio of projects across our network. Managing contracts worth up to £20m, you’ll ensure robust cost control, contract compliance, accurate reporting and value for money delivery across complex programmes.

Working closely with Commercial Managers, Senior Quantity Surveyors, contractors and Local Delivery Partners, you'll be at the forefront of managing compensation events, commercial change, contract administration and cost assurance activities. This is a highly visible and fast paced role that combines commercial expertise with hands-on site engagement, ensuring projects remain commercially sound while supporting successful delivery outcomes.

You’ll be responsible for overseeing a portfolio that includes major programmes such as MRP and LDP projects, validating completed works, challenging costs, assessing compensation events and ensuring contractor payments are appropriate and accurate. With regular site visits across the network and collaboration with a variety of stakeholders, no two days will be the same.

What you’ll bring:

You’re a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor who enjoys balancing contract management, stakeholder engagement and site-based project support.

• Degree Qualified – A Quantity Surveying degree is essential.
• Professional Membership – MRICS qualification is desirable, or working towards professional accreditation.
• NEC Expertise – Experience administering and managing NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts.
• Utilities Experience – Previous experience within utilities, infrastructure or other regulated industries is highly desirable.
• Client & Contractor Knowledge – Experience working from both client-side and contractor-side environments.
• Commercial Acumen – Strong understanding of cost management, cost reporting, benchmarking and commercial risk.
• Analytical Approach – Ability to interpret financial data and provide robust commercial challenge.
• Stakeholder Management – Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across multiple functions.
• Leadership Potential – Experience mentoring, coaching or managing junior commercial professionals would be advantageous.
• Mobility – Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across the network.

This role will be based in our London Network, with an expectation to attend the office every Tuesday and Thursday, alongside regular travel to project sites across the network.
