Where will you be working?

MEICA and capital maintenance - Our Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation (MEICA) experts offer a one-stop solution, including ongoing operation and maintenance services

What will you be doing?

As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting financial and contractual aspects, ensuring the smooth operation of our capital maintenance projects. You’ll work closely with clients to understand their needs, negotiate agreements, and foster strong, long-term relationships that drive success.

You will assist in managing costs, contracts, and commercial risks and support our capital maintenance team, you’ll provide commercial guidance, helping to
maintain compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Documentation and reporting will be key aspects of your role, ensuring that all commercial processes are up to date and aligned with company requirements. You’ll also oversee supplier agreements, monitor performance, and contribute to strategic decision-making to support the growth and stability of the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the administration of NEC3/4 contracts and advise the project management team on commercial influences around Cost and Value
  • Administer Early Warning and Compensation Event process.
  • Maintain accurate records of contract correspondence, change control and cost tracking
  • Support monthly CVRs and reporting processes, ensuring timely and accurate updates.
  • Liaise with Project Managers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure contract requirements are met.
  • Administer subcontractor contract, including subcontractor engagement, tracking progress and monitoring performance.
  • Support in the review and commercial assessment of subcontractor applications variations and final accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of applications for payment, valuations and final accounts
  • Help identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle

Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with experience in cost management, contract administration, and change control.
  • Detailed knowledge, understanding and previous experience of working under NEC contracts
  • Effective communication, negotiation and Presentation skills
  • Knowledge of work activities undertaken - Administrative and Operational.
  • An understanding of all relevant statutory, regulatory and company policies and guidelines.
  • The ability and desire to identify opportunities for improvement, and influence change.
  • Knowledge of service delivery within the utilities sector.
  • Relevant Hons Degree level qualification or equivalent.
