Job summary

MK Consult in Lancashire is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join our team delivering social housing refurbishment, planned maintenance, retrofit and decarbonisation projects.

We welcome graduates through to project Quantity Surveyors with at least 2 years' post-graduate experience and a track record in social housing. You will manage commercial aspects, valuations, cost monitoring and subcontractor management to support project delivery and career development.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years' post-graduate Quantity Surveying experience.
  • Experience working on social housing refurbishment, planned maintenance, retrofit, decarbonisation or regeneration projects.
  • Good commercial awareness and understanding of construction contracts.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ambition to develop within a growing organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the commercial aspects of refurbishment and maintenance contracts.
  • Preparing and submitting valuations, variations and final accounts.
  • Cost monitoring, forecasting and reporting.

Quantity Surveyor.

Due to continued growth, my client is looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join our team delivering social housing refurbishment, planned maintenance, retrofit and decarbonisation projects.


They are open to candidates ranging from Graduate Quantity Surveyor level through to Project Quantity Surveyor level, provided they have experience within the social housing refurbishment sector.

Key Responsibilities

Managing the commercial aspects of refurbishment and maintenance contracts.


Preparing and submitting valuations, variations and final accounts.


Cost monitoring, forecasting and reporting.


Procurement and management of subcontractors and suppliers.


Reviewing and negotiating subcontractor accounts.


Supporting project delivery teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.


Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.


Maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.


Ensuring contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.


About You

We are keen to hear from candidates who possess:


A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.


A minimum of 2 years' post-graduate Quantity Surveying experience.


Experience working on social housing refurbishment, planned maintenance, retrofit, decarbonisation or regeneration projects.
