Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to join a thriving contractor with a strong order book, loyal client base and an excellent reputation within the healthcare sector?
Our client is a well-established main contractor delivering a diverse range of healthcare, education and specialist construction projects across refurbishment, fit-out and new build environments. Thanks to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint a commercially astute Surveyor to join their team based in Halifax.
The Opportunity
- Working alongside an experienced Commercial Director and established project teams, you will take full commercial responsibility for multiple projects from procurement through to final account.
- Projects range in value from £50k to £8m, with most schemes falling between £500k and £2m, providing an excellent mix of varied and technically interesting work.

Key Responsibilities
- Commercial management of multiple refurbishment, fit-out and new build projects
- Procurement and negotiation of subcontract packages
- Preparation and submission of client valuations
- Management and agreement of variations
- Cost control and financial reporting throughout project lifecycles
- Production of CVRs, profit forecasts, cash flow forecasts and cost-to-complete reports
- Preparation and negotiation of final accounts
- Working closely with Contracts Managers and Site Managers to ensure commercial success
- Supporting and mentoring junior commercial team members where appropriate
Requirements
- Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
- Proven track record delivering refurbishment, fit-out and/or new build projects
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong understanding of subcontract procurement and commercial management
- Experience administering and managing projects under JCT contracts, including Design & Build forms
- Strong financial and contractual awareness
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Good IT and reporting skills
- Healthcare sector experience would be advantageous, but is not essential

Location
This role is based full-time from the company's West Yorkshire office, Monday to Friday, with site visits as required.
