Job summary

Galliford Try Group in Guildford is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join the team. Ideally based in or around Guildford with travel to multiple sites within the region.

You will be responsible for tender analysis, on-site and drawing-based measurement, valuations, and cost reporting within a Design & Build environment. Relevant JCT/NEC knowledge and professional membership are advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the Construction industry for a main contractor, particularly on Design & Build projects.
  • Sound knowledge of JCT and NEC Conditions of Contract.
  • Degree qualification and membership of RICS or IOB (or working towards).

Responsibilities

  • Analyse tender allowances.
  • Measure and value works on site and from drawings for valuations, variations and final accounts.
  • Agree valuation dates and prepare interim valuations.
  • Administer Main Contract and Subcontract conditions.
  • Handle Subcontract and Design Procurement and related payments.
  • Submit Cost Value Reconcilations and prepare cost to complete.
  • Manage cash flow and turnover forecasts and provide standard reports.
  • Prepare internal valuations/CVRs and subcontract liability reports.

Quantity Surveyor
Guildford

An opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyorto join the team at Galliford Try.

Ideally, you will based in or around the Guildford area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.

What you will be doing:
  • Analysis of tender allowances
  • The measurement and valuation of works (on site and from drawings), for valuations, variations and final accounts.
  • Agreement of valuation dates and preparing, submitting interim valuations in accordance with those dates.
  • Administering and/or advising on Main Contract and Subcontract conditions
  • Subcontract and Design Procurement
  • Subcontract payments, variations and final accounts
  • Submission of Cost Value Reconciliations
  • Preparation of cost to complete
  • Cash management and maximisation
  • Cash Flow and Turnover forecast
  • Provision of standard reports
  • Internal Valuations/CVRs and subcontract liability reports in accordance with schedule of accounting period end dates and deadlines
About You:
  • You will have experience of working within the Construction industry for a main contractor, specifically on Design and Build; as well as sound knowledge of JCT and NEC Conditions of Contract.
  • The ability to work independently as well as within a team is essential.
  • You will be degree qualified and member of the RICS or IOB (or moving towards professional membership).
