Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in the United Kingdom is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor to join our Project & Programme Services team in London. You will deliver cost planning, estimating, benchmarking and commercial management across major infrastructure and construction projects, collaborating with clients, stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams.

The role emphasises data analysis, risk assessment and the development of dashboards and digital tools to improve commercial performance.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying with progress toward professional chartership (RICS or equivalent).
  • Experience in cost planning, estimating, benchmarking and commercial management within infrastructure/construction sectors.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with data interpretation and trend identification.
  • Proficient IT skills including cost management tools and data analysis software; BIM knowledge advantageous.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Proactive, innovative, and committed to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver cost planning, estimating and budget management through the project lifecycle.
  • Produce estimates, budget reviews and commercial assessments across projects and sectors.
  • Collect, analyse and interpret cost data to support client decisions.
  • Prepare benchmarking, value management and cost assurance outputs; identify trends and risks.
  • Ensure accurate forecasts and robust reports throughout delivery.
  • Build relationships with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams while providing commercial advice.
  • Champion innovation and development of tools, dashboards and digital solutions.

Your role
  • Deliver cost planning, estimating and budget management throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Produce estimates, budget reviews and commercial assessments across a range of projects and sectors.
  • Collect, analyse and interpret cost and project data to support client and stakeholder decision-making.
  • Prepare benchmarking, value management and cost assurance outputs, identifying trends, risks and key cost drivers.
  • Ensure commercial data, forecasts and reports are accurate, robust and maintained throughout project delivery.
  • Build effective relationships with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams while providing commercial advice and support.
  • Champion innovation, continuous improvement and the development of tools, dashboards and digital solutions to enhance commercial performance and reporting.
About you
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent relevant experience, with progress towards professional chartership (RICS or equivalent).
  • Experience in cost planning, estimating, benchmarking and commercial management within infrastructure, construction or related sectors.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and communicate insights effectively.
  • Knowledge of standard methods of measurement and cost management principles.
  • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications, cost management tools and data analysis software; knowledge of BIM and digital measurement systems is advantageous.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build effective client relationships.
  • A proactive and innovative approach, with strong organisational skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
