Job summary

AtkinsRéalis UK Limited is seeking a motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our cross-disciplinary team on civil infrastructure projects across the UK. You will help manage costs, validate payments, and support procurement while administering contracts and tracking project records.

The role emphasises collaboration with client teams, adherence to UK contract forms, and opportunities for professional development within a flexible, hybrid working culture.

Qualifications

  • Membership with RICS or working toward membership.
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent.
  • Experience on civil infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with NEC, ICC, FIDIC, or JCT contracts in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with client teams including leadership, project managers, contractors, and internal managers.
  • Monitor project costs to ensure delivery within budget.
  • Validate contractor and supplier costs and payments.
  • Provide regular financial reports to keep clients informed.
  • Support procurement in evaluating and appointing contractors.
  • Administer various contract types ensuring compliance with terms.
  • Support contract changes by reviewing validity, quotations and timely submissions.
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive project records.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks; assist value engineering.

Your role
  • Collaboration – Working in the client team with leadership, project managers, contractors, and internal managers.
  • Cost Management - Monitoring project costs to ensure the project is delivered within budget.
  • Validating contractor and supplier costs & payments.
  • Reporting - Providing regular input to financial reports to ensure our clients have confidence in their project outcomes.
  • Procurement – Supporting the procurement team in evaluating and appointing contractors.
  • Contract Administration - Administering various contract types, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions.
  • Supporting with contract change by reviewing validity, quotations and ensuring timely submissions and agreement.
  • Working closely with the team to maintain accurate and comprehensive project records.
  • Risk and Value Management - Identifying, analysing, and mitigating commercial risks.
  • Assisting in value engineering to optimise project performance.
About you
  • Working towards membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent, recognised body.
  • Ideally degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
  • Experience in civil infrastructure projects preferrable.
  • Experience with common forms of UK Construction contracts such as NEC, ICC, FIDIC, or JCT preferrable.
