Job summary

Carmichael UK is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial activities on a London highways project. An immediate start is available for someone with a track record on major civil engineering schemes and NEC contracts.

You will manage subcontract packages, valuations, cost reports and final accounts, while liaising with clients and project teams to maximise value and ensure compliant performance on NEC forms of contract.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor in highways/major civil engineering.
• Strong knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
• Experience with Tier 1 contractors or major civil engineering organisations.
• Track record delivering schemes for National Highways, Highways England or major local authority frameworks.
• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial and contractual aspects of highways and major infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and review subcontract packages, procurement schedules and contract administration.

• Manage variations, compensation events and change control processes.

• Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.

• Ensuring compliance with NEC forms of contract.
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within highways, roads or major civil engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts, including NEC3 and NEC4.
• Experience working for a Tier 1 contractor or major civil engineering organisation.
• Track record delivering projects for National Highways, Highways England or major local authority frameworks.
• Excellent commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills.
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
