Job summary

Fourblue is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join our client's team in London. The role focuses on commercial management across mission critical projects, collaborating with Contract Managers and senior QS colleagues to maintain financial control and contractual compliance.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years post-graduation experience, strong commercial acumen, and excellent IT skills, with the ability to work on site in London. A relevant degree is advantageous but not essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly progress applications and project costs.

Job description

Fourblue are hiring for a Quantity Surveyor to join our client's team in London.

This is an opportunity to join an established engineering and construction business working across mission critical projects.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management of projects, working closely with Contract Managers, Senior Quantity Surveyors and the wider construction team.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with Contract Managers to advise on the commercial status of projects
• Assist with the review and understanding of project contracts
• Support Senior Quantity Surveyors with the preparation of commercial reports
• Negotiate with contractors and assist with the preparation and management of variations
• Manage major subcontractor accounts from initial award through to interim valuations, variations and final accounts
• Assist with monthly progress applications
• Monitor project costs and commercial performance
• Work closely with the wider construction and project teams
• Support with other Quantity Surveying and commercial duties as required

We're looking for someone with:

• Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying or similar commercial role (+5 years post graduation)
• Experience within Mission Critical projects
• A relevant third-level qualification is advantageous but not essential
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Excellent IT skills
• The ability to work on site, in London
• Strong written, verbal and communication skills
