Job summary

Vital Energi in Scotland is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team across the Scotland Region. You will support financial management of contracts, in partnership with Contracts Managers and Project Managers, and help drive commercial efficiency on multiple live projects.

The successful candidate will have a background in construction, NEC contract knowledge, and MRICS or similar professional recognition, with a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Educated to BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent commercially related discipline.
• Member of Profession Institution (e.g. MRICS or similar).
• Knowledge and working experience of NEC Contracts and driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support financial management of contracts in partnership with Contracts/Project Managers.
• Vet and administer contract documentation to ensure alignment with Tender terms.
• Produce and monitor Commercial Risk Registers and mitigations.
• Issue enquiries for Major Plant & Equipment and Sub-Contract packages; negotiate terms.
• Prepare Applications for Payment, invoices, payment certificates and progress payments.
• Measure, certify and agree variations and final accounts; issue notices as required.
• Monitor on-site records, issue notices, and participate in contract reviews.

If so, due to continuing success, we are experiencing rapid and extensive growth in all business sectors, and we are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor with a successful background in the world of Construction.

You will join our Commercial team supporting a variety of projects covering the Scotland Region.

You will support financial management of Contracts, in partnership with the Contracts Managers and / or Project Managers.

Whatyouwillbedoing:

• Work in partnership with site management, commercially supporting sites as required, to develop a proactive site team. Ensuring that contractual obligations are identified and administered.
• Vet contract documentation on receipt from Client to ensure compatibility with the Company’s Tender and subsequent negotiations
• ProduceCommercialRiskRegisterforeachcontract.Monitorriskandassistinimplementationofagreedmitigationmeasures
• Prepare and issue enquiries for Major Plant & Equipment and Sub-Contract packages. Vet quotations commercially and negotiate price and terms with vendors. Issue resultant Purchase Orders
• Prepare and submit Applications for Payment and/or Invoices, obtain Payment Certificates and progress Client Payments in accordance with contractual provisions
• Measure, submit and agree Variations, Loss & Expense and/or Compensation Events in accordance with contractual provisions to facilitate prompt agreement of Final Accounts
• Monitor on-site record keeping. Prepare and issue Notices in accordance with contractual provisions
• Prepare and submit monthly Cost Value Reconciliations and Cash/Spend Profiles. Attend Contract Review Meetings
• Authorisation and coding of Suppliers’ and Sub-contractors’ Invoices and submission to Finance for payment
• Measure, certify and agree Sub-Contractors interim valuations and final accounts. Prepare and issue contractual notices to Sub-Contractors
