Job summary

A multi-award-winning developer in Scotland is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This role offers hybrid working with up to 4 days from home each week, a market-leading benefits package, and significant professional development opportunities. Ideal candidates will manage cost control procedures, budget planning, and ensure compliance with regulations. Previous experience in construction is beneficial, but mid-level QSs seeking to develop their skills are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Essential knowledge of construction methods and industry standards.
• Mid-level QS’s or Assistant QS’s ready to develop skills.
• Experience within a housing developer is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage cost control procedures in line with group policies.
• Prepare reports, tenders, and oversee commercial tasks.
• Maintain budget control and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Maintain budget control, lead value engineering and ensure regulatory compliance.

A requirement for a Quantity Surveyor to join the North of Scotland commercial team of a multi‑award‑winning developer.

The QS will manage all cost control procedures in line with group policies, including budgeting, valuations, and cost reconciliation. The role involves preparing accurate reports, tenders and subcontractor procurement, and overseeing commercial tasks on large developments. The position requires maintaining budget control, leading value engineering, and ensuring compliance with regulations and codes of practice.

Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards is essential to deliver projects within budget and achieve best value. Mid‑level QS’s will be considered or Assistant QS’s with the desire to develop their professional skills and progress. It is beneficial for applicants to have experience within a housing developer but it’s not essential; applicants from PQS are also encouraged.
