Job summary

Mitie Projects is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support the Custom Solar commercial department within the Power & Grid unit. You will manage budgets, conduct risk and change control, and ensure robust contract administration on allocated projects.

You will bring a 2:2 degree in Quantity Surveying, 3+ years' QS experience, NEC knowledge, and a willingness to travel to site. A full UK driving licence is required as you will visit sites with the Commercial Manager.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2:2 degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying.
• 3+ years' experience working at Quantity Surveyor level.
• Excellent understanding of Contract Law, with NEC suite experience preferred.
• Strong commercial acumen and financial awareness.
• Willingness to undertake site visits.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Collate monthly cost data to support the Commercial Manager with the production of CVRs.
• Manage budget control and forecasting for allocated projects, providing monthly updates.
• Ensure correct contract administration of allocated projects in line with contract requirements.
• Oversee cash management and cash flow production.
• Prepare forecasting documentation.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, including measurement of works, variations, liability trackers, payment notices, and final accounts.
• Attend progress meetings and contribute to weekly commercial meetings.
• Conduct site visits and support client meetings alongside the Commercial Manager.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure work is carried out in line with internal processes and governance.
