Job summary

BMSL Group Ltd in South Wales (Cardiff area) is seeking a proactive Quantity Surveyor to join a growing construction contractor delivering residential and commercial projects. You will support commercial management from pre-construction to final account and work closely with the Commercial Director and project teams.

This role offers a competitive salary, car allowance or company vehicle, pension, training and clear progression within a growing business.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying role (Assistant or QS level).
• Background within construction (residential and/or commercial projects).
• Strong commercial awareness and communication skills.
• Ability to manage workload and work as part of a team.
• Good understanding of standard forms of contract.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and commercial software.
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar (or working towards).

Responsibilities

• Support the commercial management of construction projects from pre-construction through to final account.
• Work closely with the Commercial Director and wider project teams.
• Assist with cost planning, budgeting and tender documentation; managing subcontract procurement and valuations.
• Support cost control, cash flow and reporting.
• Assist with interim valuations and final accounts.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and internal teams.
