Job summary

Harper Construction Recruitment is partnering with a growing fit-out and refurbishment contractor delivering high-quality projects across Bristol, the South West and surrounding regions. We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team.

As a Quantity Surveyor you will take commercial responsibility for fit-out and refurbishment projects from pre-construction through to final account, working with the Commercial Manager and site teams to ensure profitability and strong

Qualifications

• 3-6 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction or related sector.
• Experience delivering fit-out, refurbishment or main contractor projects.
• Good understanding of JCT contracts and commercial processes.
• Experience managing subcontract procurement and commercial reporting.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial delivery of multiple fit-out and refurbishment projects.
• Prepare cost plans, budgets and procurement schedules.
• Procure and manage subcontractor packages, including tender analysis.
• Prepare and submit applications for payment, valuations and final accounts.
• Assess and agree subcontractor applications and variations.
• Produce monthly cost reports and commercial forecasts; track project costs.

Working acrosscommercial offices, education, healthcare, retail, industrial and publicsector environments, they pride theirselves ondelivering projects safely, collaborativelyand to anexceptional standard.

Due to continuedgrowth, they arelooking to appointan experiencedQuantity Surveyorto strengthen ourcommercialteam.

The Role

As a QuantitySurveyor, you willtake commercial responsibilityfor a rangeof fit outand refurbishment projects, from pre-constructionthrough to finalaccount. Working closelywith the CommercialManager, Contracts Managersand Site Teams, you'll ensure projectsare delivered profitablywhile maintaining strongclient andsubcontractorrelationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the commercialdelivery of multiplefit out andrefurbishment projects.
• Prepare cost plans, budgets and procurementschedules.

• Prepare and submitapplications for payment, valuations and finalaccounts.
• Assess and agreesubcontractor applicationsand variations.
• Manage project costs, cash flow andforecasting throughoutthe project lifecycle.
• Identify, price andnegotiate variations andchange control.
• Produce accuratemonthly cost reportsand commercial forecasts.
• Administer contracts andensure compliance withJCT terms andconditions.
• Workclosely with operationalteams to maximiseproject performance andprofitability.
• Build and maintainstrong working relationshipswith clients, consultants, suppliersand subcontractors.
• Support the CommercialManager in managingcommercial risk andidentifying opportunitiesfor value engineering.

About You

Essential

• 3-6 years' experience as aQuantity Surveyorwithin the constructionindustry.
• Previous experience workingfor a fitout, refurbishment ormain contractor.
• Good understanding ofJCT contracts.
• Experience managing subcontractprocurement and commercialreporting.
• Strongnegotiation andcommunication skills.
• Excellent commercial awarenessand attention todetail.
• Ability to managemultiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficient in MicrosoftExcel and standardcommercial software.
• Full UK drivinglicence.

Desirable

• Degree qualified inQuantity Surveying ora related constructiondiscipline.
• Experience delivering projectsvalued between £250kand £10m.
• Knowledge of commercialinteriors,CAT A/CATB office fitout, education, healthcareor occupied refurbishmentprojects.
• Working towards orholding MRICS orMCIOB accreditation.
