Job description

We have an opportunity for an experienced Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor up to Senior level to join the rapidly expanding Birmingham team, working with both Public and Private sector Clients on a variety of projects including Regeneration, Residential, Sport & Leisure, Industrial, and Commercial Developer schemes. We offer a flexible working environment, with roles involving work at the office, home, and on client/site visits.

About The Role

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Supporting Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives.
• Engaging positively with Customers and developing, maintaining relationships.
• Delivering high-quality services ensuring cost management deliverables meet requirements.
• Managing projects in accordance with business procedures.
• Preparing and presenting cost estimates and option studies.
• Cost planning and cost-in-use studies.
• Advising on procurement strategies and managing tender processes.
• Evaluating tenders, valuing work, and settling final accounts.
• Providing legal and contractual advice, and administering contracts.
• Producing reports for Customers and mentoring team members.
• Identifying new business opportunities and managing service delivery for profit.

About You

Experience, Knowledge, and Key Skills

• Sound cost management experience, working towards chartership.
• Knowledge of cost estimating, planning, and construction procurement strategies.
• Experience in post-contract cost management tasks.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Organizational skills and adaptability.
• Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Understanding of legislation affecting building contracts.
• Ability to work as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Quantity Surveying Degree or similar.
