Job description

Quantity Surveyor:

CB Contracts (NI) Ltd are a Belfast based flooring, painting and hygienic cladding sub-contractor with 40 years’ experience in the construction industry.

We work throughout the UK on large scale commercial projects with some of the biggest main contractors in the country.

We are currently looking to add an additional Quantity Surveyor to the existing team. This role will be based in our Belfast office.

The Quantity Surveyor Role will include but not be limited to the following:

1. Commercial management of projects incl. costs, valuations, variations and agreeing final accounts.
2. Review and analysis of contract documents
3. Regular communication with clients to advise on all commercial aspects of projects.
4. Commercial management of subcontract packages.
5. Monthly commercial reporting to Senior Management
6. Attending project progress / commercial meetings
7. Pricing and negotiating new works/tenders

Essential Criteria:

1. 3rd level Quantity Surveying qualification with a minimum of 1 year working as a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator Role.
2. or
3. A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a Quantity Surveying and/or Estimating Role.

Also:

1. Strong negotiating skills.
2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
3. Ability to work under their own initiative within a team
4. Proficient in Microsoft packages incl. Excel, Word and Outlook.
5. Valid clean UK driving license.

Desirable criteria:

1. Experience of working as a specialist sub-contractor QS/Estimator
2. Knowledge of the flooring and painting industry will also be an advantage.
