Job summary

Osborne Appointments is recruiting a Technical & Quality Assistant for a Milton Keynes site in the food & manufacturing sector. This entry‑level role offers 37.5 hours per week and a salary of £35,000–£40,000 depending on experience.

You will support the Technical team with daily food safety and quality activities, help maintain documentation, and assist with the transition from SALSA to BRCGS accreditation.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate with a degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Food Safety or a related subject.
• 1–2 years' experience in Technical, Quality or QA within food manufacturing may also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Support the Technical team with the day-to-day management of food safety and quality standards.
• Assist with maintaining and updating technical documentation and quality management systems.
• Support the site in its transition from SALSA to BRCGS accreditation.
• Assist with the implementation and maintenance of BRCGS-compliant systems and procedures.
• Support HACCP, food safety and quality management activities.
• Assist with internal, customer and third-party audits.
• Maintain accurate records relating to quality, traceability and food safety.
• Support investigations into non-conformances, customer complaints and quality issues.
• Assist with implementing corrective and preventative actions.
• Carry out routine factory checks relating to GMP, hygiene and food safety.
• Support product traceability exercises and mock recalls.
• Assist with supplier and raw material documentation and approvals.
• Liaise with Production and other departments to ensure technical standards are maintained.
• Keep up to date with relevant food legislation, customer requirements and industry standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
