Job Advert in Milton Keynes is seeking a Technical & Quality Assistant to join a Food & Manufacturing team. 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday, with a salary of £35,000–£40,000 depending on experience. Qualifications

• Recent graduate with a degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Food Safety or related subject.
• Alternatively, 1–2 years' experience in Technical, Quality or QA role within food manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of HACCP and GMP.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Technical team with day-to-day management of food safety and quality standards.
• Assist with maintaining and updating technical documentation and quality management systems.
• Support site transition from SALSA to BRCGS accreditation.
• Assist with implementing and maintaining BRCGS-compliant systems and procedures.
• Contribute to HACCP, food safety and quality management activities.
• Assist with internal, customer and third-party audits.
• Maintain records relating to quality, traceability and food safety.
• Assist with investigations into non-conformances and quality issues.
• Carry out routine GMP, hygiene and food safety checks.
• Support supplier and raw material documentation and approvals.

Role: Technical & Quality Assistant

Location: Milton Keynes

Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours a week

An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a post graduate or entry level Technical & Quality Assistant to join a well-established client based in Milton Keynes, within the Food & Manufacturing industry.

Duties of a Technical & Quality Assistant:

• Support the Technical team with the day-to-day management of food safety and quality standards.
• Assist with maintaining and updating technical documentation and quality management systems.
• Support the site in its transition from SALSA to BRCGS accreditation.
• Assist with the implementation and maintenance of BRCGS-compliant systems and procedures.
• Support HACCP, food safety and quality management activities.
• Assist with internal, customer and third-party audits.
• Maintain accurate records relating to quality, traceability and food safety.
• Support investigations into non-conformances, customer complaints and quality issues.
• Assist with implementing corrective and preventative actions.
• Carry out routine factory checks relating to GMP, hygiene and food safety.
• Support product traceability exercises and mock recalls.
• Assist with supplier and raw material documentation and approvals.
• Liaise with Production and other departments to ensure technical standards are maintained.
• Keep up to date with relevant food legislation, customer requirements and industry standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

What we would like from you:

• A recent graduate with a degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Food Safety or another relevant subject; or
• Someone with 1-2 years' experience in a Technical, Quality or QA role within food manufacturing.

You’ll ideally have:

• An understanding of food safety and quality principles.
• An understanding of HACCP and GMP.
• An interest in BRCGS and food manufacturing standards.
• Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues across different departments.
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn.
• The confidence to challenge processes and raise quality or food safety concerns when required.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to work independently whilst also being part of a wider team.
