Role: Technical & Quality Assistant
An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a post graduate or entry level Technical & Quality Assistant to join a well-established client based in Milton Keynes, within the Food & Manufacturing industry.
Location: Milton Keynes
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours a week
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience

Duties of a Technical & Quality Assistant
- Support the Technical team with the day-to-day management of food safety and quality standards.
- Assist with maintaining and updating technical documentation and quality management systems.
- Support the site in its transition from SALSA to BRCGS accreditation.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of BRCGS-compliant systems and procedures.
- Support HACCP, food safety and quality management activities.
- Assist with internal, customer and third-party audits.
- Maintain accurate records relating to quality, traceability and food safety.
- Support investigations into non-conformances, customer complaints and quality issues.
- Assist with implementing corrective and preventative actions.
- Carry out routine factory checks relating to GMP, hygiene and food safety.
- Support product traceability exercises and mock recalls.
- Assist with supplier and raw material documentation and approvals.
- Liaise with Production and other departments to ensure technical standards are maintained.
- Keep up to date with relevant food legislation, customer requirements and industry standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
What we would like from you
- A recent graduate with a degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Food Safety or another relevant subject; or
- Someone with 1 2 years' experience in a Technical, Quality or QA role within food manufacturing.
You’ll ideally have
- An understanding of food safety and quality principles.
- An understanding of HACCP and GMP.
- An interest in BRCGS and food manufacturing standards.
- Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues across different departments.
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn.
- The confidence to challenge processes and raise quality or food safety concerns when required.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.>
- The ability to work independently whilst also being part of a wider team.
