Job summary

IMT Resourcing Solutions Ltd is seeking a Quality Support Technician for a late-shift role in Tewkesbury. The position covers first-off, patrol and final inspection with CMM support in a busy machine shop environment.

You will verify components against drawings and tolerances, prepare FAIR/inspection documentation, and assist with non-conformances and corrective actions in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Hands-on inspection in a machine shop with reading engineering drawings.
• Experience inspecting to defined tolerances and drawing interpretation.
• Familiarity with CMM equipment and inspection records.

Responsibilities

• Carry out first-off, patrol and final inspection of precision components.

Quality Support Technician – Late shift

Tewkesbury - Permanent – Full time – 4 Day week (Monday to Thursday)

Up to £40,000 + 25% Shift allowance (£50,000)

Our client, a specialist precision engineering manufacturer, is looking for a Quality Support Technician to support inspection and quality activities within a busy machine shop environment.

This is a hands‑on quality position covering first-off, patrol and final inspection, alongside CMM inspection, First Article Inspection and support with non‑conformance resolution.

The role:

• Carry out first-off, patrol and final inspection of precision-engineered components
• Inspect components against engineering drawings, specifications and defined tolerances
• Use CMM equipment and handheld measuring equipment
• Complete First Article Inspection activities in accordance with AS9100 requirements
• Verify production and inspection records throughout the manufacturing process
• Identify and raise non-conformances
• Support production teams in resolving quality issues
• Support the preparation of FAIRs and Inspection Test Plans
• Provide calibration support for tooling and finished products
• Act as a technical quality contact for internal production teams
• Support root-cause and corrective‑action activities
• Contribute to continuous improvement across production and quality

Person:

• Previous production inspection experience within a machine shop environment
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and specifications
• Good understanding of geometric tolerances
• Competent using handheld measuring equipment
• Experience using CMM equipment
• Understanding of manufacturing and inspection documentation
• Knowledge of non-conformance processes, root cause and corrective actions
• Strong attention to detail
• Comfortable working within a fast-paced machining environment

Desirables:

• Apprentice trained with a minimum City & Guilds or equivalent engineering qualification
• Aerospace and/or nuclear manufacturing experience
• First Article Inspection experience
• Experience producing FAIR documentation
• CMM programming experience
• Experience with Aberlink, QCT or Mitutoyo software
• Knowledge of AS9100 requirements
• Calibration experience
