Job summary

IMT Resourcing Solutions Ltd is helping a precision engineering manufacturer recruit a Quality Engineer to own quality across manufacturing, NPI and continuous improvement. You will investigate issues, drive robust root-cause actions and implement sustainable improvements in close collaboration with Production, Engineering and Supply Chain.

The role focuses on audits, FMEA, control plans and CAPA, with exposure to APQP/PPAP, FAIRs and SPC.

Qualifications

• Proven Quality Engineering experience within manufacturing/production
• Strong practical root-cause and structured problem-solving experience
• Experience with 8D, 5 Why and corrective-action processes
• Understanding of FMEA and manufacturing process controls
• Experience working with Quality Management Systems
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and technical specifications
• Understanding of machining/manufacturing processes
• Experience managing multiple quality issues and priorities
• Strong data-analysis and reporting skills
• Good Microsoft Excel capability
• Practical, hands-on approach to quality and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Investigate internal, customer and supplier quality issues
• Lead structured root-cause investigations using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone and Pareto analysis
• Implement and verify corrective and preventive actions
• Support NPI and ensure quality requirements are understood and implemented
• Support APQP, PPAP, FAIR, MSA/Gage R&R, SPC and CAPA activities
• Develop and maintain FMEAs, Control Plans, process flows and inspection plans
• Manage non-conforming product, containment and disposition
• Analyse quality data including scrap, rework, defects and customer complaints
• Conduct process, product, internal and supplier audits
• Support supplier corrective actions and performance improvement
• Review engineering changes and assess quality impact
• Produce and maintain quality procedures, work instructions and inspection standards
• Support FAIRs, Quality Plans and Inspection Test Plans
• Work directly with production teams to reduce defects and improve manufacturing processes
• Promote a proactive, zero-defect and continuous-improvement culture

Our client, a specialist precision engineering manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support manufacturing quality, NPI and continuous improvement.

This is a hands-on position working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Production and Supply Chain, investigating quality issues, driving root-cause activity and implementing sustainable improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Investigate internal, customer and supplier quality issues
• Lead structured root-cause investigations using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone and Pareto analysis

• HNC in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Production Engineering
• External Auditor training
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
