Job summary

Complete Talent Services Ltd in Oldham is seeking a Quality Manager to lead the quality function within an engineering/manufacturing environment on a day shift.

You will oversee quality systems, audits, NCRs and continuous improvement, with responsibility for a team of 5, ensuring ISO 9001 compliance and calibration records across production.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in engineering discipline.
• Experience in Quality Management within Engineering/Manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems.
• Broad knowledge of Machining, Fabrication and Assembly processes.
• ISO 9001 Auditor qualifications are essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Quality function and provide SME support to on-site personnel.
• Develop and implement the Quality Management System to improve workflows.
• Resolve quality issues, drive root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Communicate with the team and provide regular updates in line with procedures.
• Maintain the company’s calibration system and Life Time Records in line with delivery requirements.
• Oversee internal audits and support external audits by customers/inspectors.

Job description

Due to business growth, our client, an industry leading Manufacturing Engineering company based near Oldham are looking to recruit a Quality Manager to join the business on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will be required to oversee the day to day running of the company's Quality systems and procedures through the use of audit, non-conformance reporting, feedback, corrective action and other formal management practices. You will also be required to manage a team of 5 staff with the department.

Interested candidates will ideally be Degree qualified within an engineering discipline with working knowledge of ISO 9001. A demonstrable background within Quality Engineering with a broad understanding of manufacturing processes including Fabrication, Machining and Assembly is a must.

This position is based on days and available for an immediate start.

Hours - Mon - Fri

Role Description

• Lead the Quality function and provide direct support and quality management subject matter expertise to the relevant personnel on site.
• Leading the development and implementation of the Quality Management System to simplify and improve the ways of working.
• Resolving or escalating any quality management concerns, issues, and risks and leading a culture of root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Communicate effectively with your team giving clear guidance and instructions. Have regular updates with your team to ensure any issues are dealt with in a professional timely manner following procedures where necessary.
• Ensure that the company's quality and welding accreditations are maintained.
• Ensure all Quality performance statistics and reportage and present to Senior Management and throughout the company. Including for company briefings, toolbox talks and other communication streams.
• Oversee the Internal Audit Schedule ensuring all Quality audits are completed within the scheduled timeframe.
• Conduct periodic Quality review meetings as required to maintain compliance.
• Deal with Customer Complaints including recording, root cause investigation, corrective actions and response. Use of appropriate Quality and Lean management techniques for investigation and required actions.
• Raise NCR's for internal and external issues. Use of appropriate Quality and Lean management techniques for investigation and required actions.
• Conduct and/or assist with external audits as appropriate. Including customers, suppliers and third-party inspectorates - BSI, TWI, etc.
• Management of the Life Time Records production from creation through compilation to final delivery in compliance with customers' delivery requirements.
• Ensure the company's calibration system is kept up to date.

Skills & Attributes

• Ideally Degree qualified within an engineering discipline
• Demonstrable experience in a Quality Management role within an Engineering/ Manufacturing environment.
• Excellent Knowledge of ISO 9001 - preferably gained by implementing ISO 9001 management systems.
• Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes including Machining, Fabrication and Assembly
• 9001 Auditor qualifications are essential.
